Social account data deletion

CoWriter's Social Studio can connect to Instagram, Facebook Pages, YouTube, TikTok and X. The Meta app may appear as TheRebornPoet in your connected apps.

Disconnect a channel

  1. Sign in to CoWriter and open Social Studio.
  2. Select the book studio, then open Channels.
  3. Find the account and choose Disconnect.

For Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X, disconnect removes that studio's account connection and stored access or refresh tokens. Repeat for each studio where you connected the account. It does not delete your books, generated videos, publishing history or posts already published on the destination platform. You can also revoke access in that platform's connected-app settings. For Meta, use Facebook's Business Integrations settings.

Disconnect YouTube and remove YouTube data

YouTube disconnect first asks Google to revoke CoWriter's access, then removes the saved connections and tokens for that channel across your book studios. It also removes channel identities, video identifiers and links, provider status and other YouTube API data from the affected publishing history. Your original books, generated videos and written titles and descriptions remain. Revoking this authorization may also affect other YouTube channels connected through the same Google app. If Google cannot confirm revocation, we show an error; retry the disconnect or contact us for help.

You can revoke access directly in Google's security settings. We periodically check access and remove associated YouTube API data when revocation is confirmed. Data removal from our active systems happens as soon as possible, within seven calendar days of a deletion request or revocation through CoWriter, and within 30 calendar days of revocation through Google. Videos already uploaded stay on YouTube. Delete those videos in YouTube if you want them removed. An upload already in progress may have reached YouTube before you disconnected.

Request removal of all social-account data

Email privacy@cowriter.net with the subject "Social account data deletion", your CoWriter account email, and the platform and account handle. We may ask you to verify ownership. Do not send passwords or access tokens. We will remove the associated social-account records and authorization data from our active systems within 30 days of a verified request, or within seven calendar days for YouTube API data.

Our server keeps the 14 most recent successful daily database backups. Owner-managed offsite backups may retain earlier copies for longer. These backups are not immediately rewritten after a disconnect or deletion request, so the seven-day deadline for active systems is not currently guaranteed for every backup copy of YouTube API data.
